Effective October 13, 2026
This policy covers both the website at gameofhumanity.com and the game at play.gameofhumanity.com. They are operated by The Game of Humanity, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We have no interest in monetizing your data. We collect only what is needed to make the game work.
The website is static. It does not set cookies, run analytics, or collect any personal information. The only third-party service loaded is Google Fonts, which may log your IP address per Google’s own privacy policy.
To start a game, solo or multiplayer, one person (the host) creates a free account. We collect:
An avatar is randomly assigned to your account. Other players can join a multiplayer game through the host’s join link without an account; they play under a temporary guest name that we do not save.
The game shows your local sunrise time. To calculate it:
Each service receives this information under its own terms. We do not save your IP address, city or coordinates in our database; only the resulting sunrise time is kept, for your login session. Your IP address is also checked during your login session to protect it from being taken over, and is not saved after that.
While you play, we store:
Saved games are kept until the host deletes them in the game or you ask us to delete your data (see Your Rights below). Games started more than two months ago can no longer be resumed. Game data is not shared with anyone.
The game uses session cookies to keep you logged in and browser local storage to save your solo game progress. No tracking cookies are used.
The game uses the following third-party services:
Registration is protected from automated sign-ups by a hidden form field; no third-party service is involved.
We do not use advertising networks, analytics services, or tracking pixels.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone. Data is stored on servers hosted by SiteGround and Railway and is accessible only to the game’s development team.
The game is designed for ages 13 and up. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.
You can request that we delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing info@gameofhumanity.com. We will process your request within 30 days.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above.
